Keep Parks Public: The tour

2026 Tour

We’re heading back on the road to check in with public lands advocates in Santa Fe and Tucson about how two summers of attacks on public lands are impacting their work. We're hosting live podcast recordings with local leaders, public lands advocates, and others who will share their perspectives and examples of how communities are being impacted and how members of the public can support efforts to protect public lands.

More details about these events will be announced soon. We look forward to seeing you there!

2025 Tour

We launched the Keep Parks Public campaign in 2025 to find out how attacks on public lands were affecting communities across the West, embarking on a 10-day road trip that took us from Denver to Las Cruces, Tucson, Flagstaff, Moab, Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, and Jackson. Along the way, we heard from public lands advocates, elected officials, and former federal employees about the ongoing threats to public lands and the communities that rely on them.

We’re excited to share our 2025 tour with you here! Check out each tour stop, listen to the recap podcast episode below, and be sure to follow @keepparkspublic on Instagram for video clips and more!

Why do public lands matter to you?

“Public lands are the best part of this country, they represent freedom, beauty and shared ownership.”

— Rica, Dolores, CO

“Our public lands have been places for all of us, of any political persuasion, to get outside and clear our heads, get fit, and be uplifted by the awesome beauty of our country. This is part of our great heritage and our birthright.”

— Allison, Albuquerque, NM

“We owe it to current and future generations to pass on this legacy at least as good as we inherited it. Once these lands are lost, we will never get them back. History will be watching us.”

— Ann, Livermore, CA
